Dear Friends, and Fans, i am so glad to let you know that Montemaggio has featured in the very interesting website www.madeintuscany.it that tells the world about all things Tuscan!

A nice surprise in the new 2015 was a new article by fellow blogger from UK,  Mr. Riaz Syed about our Rosè Wine. Fattoria di Montemaggio...discovery of wine, nature and true passion

Fattoria di Montemaggio...discovery of wine, nature and true passion

The discovery of Fattoria di Montemaggio was a breaking point in my family's and mine lives. Suffice to say that it was a big change from the London busy scene to the calm and very green surroundings of Fattoria di Montemaggio. But to be truly honest, the change was not difficult at all and it is very easy to get used to the tranquil way of live in Tuscany.   read more
Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, should we or should we not?

Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, should we or should we not?

Chianti Classico Gran Selezione... should we or should we not? This was the main question of 2014 for many producers of Chianti Classico, and in my modest opinion this is a great idea for a small producer like ourselves. When you think about the fact that there are 600 members in Consorzio Chianti Classico making Chianti Classico wine, it makes you wonder why only 36 producers chose to do Chianti Classico Gran Selezione? In reality this wine is a next step in selection within the Chianti Classico group. It is superior to Chianti Classico Riserva and it will only allow… read more
How do we make the wine?

How do we make the wine?

During this very recent harvest of Sep/Oct 2014, my farther in law came to visit us in Montemaggio. He has fully participated in the whole harvesting experience and was shocked of how much manual labour is involved. He really was astonished at how much time and effort we spend harvesting our grapes. Therefore after one long and very hard working day, he told me: "People need to know how you make wine, they need to know that you harvest and select each bunch in the winery, how you then again select berry by berry on the table of selection before… read more
The Place...

The Place...

Montemaggio is defently one of those place that you can only comprehend if you see it yourself in the ray of sunlight. It is full of peace and tranquility and this almost ringing silence, that sometimes it crosses you mind - what a  glorious day and what a wonderfully blinding beauty! For all of you who still did not find the time to  visit us, please do so in the nearest future! The best period to come for a degustation, a light lunch and a walk in the countryside would be late spring, summer and early autumn. I hope that… read more
