Guido Picchi comes from  Florence .  He has previously worked as a welder and also as a dealer in the leather industry. Guido’s fondness of countryside and passion for hunting lead him to move to Radda in Chianti with his wife and son.  He has worked at Montemaggio  since 2004, the longest amongst all current employees, and is the most experienced worker here.  Guido has also taken on the role of a tractor driver and a cellar man. A very keen formula one follower!

Francesco Migliori comes from Grassina (a small village close to Florence).  He worked as a driver for a big Florentine firm, where he assembled pieces in the engineering field of work. After that Francesco decided to dedicate his life to agriculture.  He has worked at Montemaggio since 2008. A handy man.  During these years, Francesco has learned passionately about work in the cellar and in the Vineyard.  He has a big passion for fishing and mushroom picking!

Gabriele Borgia comes from Certaldo (a small village 40 km away from Florence). Gabriele and his wife owned an estate, where with the use of their horses, they helped people with certain handicaps.  He is new at Montemaggio, but knows the work in the vineyards well, and for which he has a certain sensibility. He also takes care of the garden, and is capable of doing any tasks required! Gabriele adores his horse Sara!

Brigitte Berner Borgia is German, from Stuttgart. She has done social work in Germany, and subsequently in Italy.  Brigitte is also new at Montemaggio. She takes care of the houses and gardens and often  works in the vineyards. Meticulous and curious, she knows and feels the nature very well. Brigitte makes fantastic cakes!

Corinzia Anichini was born in Florence.  She moved to her family country house, in Greve in Chianti, after getting married.  She is an accountant and owner of a furniture shop.  She works at Montemaggio as a part time secretary, additionally dealing with accounting. Corinzia also works in a ceramic shop in Greve in Chianti.  Her father’s family were in the wine business however, and produced wine. Corinzia loves to read, cook and admires beautiful porcelain!

Ilaria Anichini was born in Florence. Her family have been long present in the Chianti region and were wine growers in the past.  She is an agronomist and the manager of Montemaggio.  Manager of the estate . After her degree from the University of Agronomy in Florence, she worked in some wineries  abroad , in Australia and in Bordeaux, France . However, she always dreamt  of coming back to hear favourite Chianti and working in a small estate, where she could do a bit of everything. The dream came true in Montemaggio, and she has been here even since. She has worked at Montemaggio since 2005. Ilaria deals with the estate in general, grape growing and winemaking, and partially with the sales.  She posses an enormous passion for agriculture,  for wine and the world of wine with all its habits and traditions. Ilaria also enjoys the countryside, sea and sailing.

Andrea Paoletti was born in the Chianti region, the town of San Casciano. He graduated from the University of Agronomy in Florence and subsequently became the managed in the famous estate in Toscany,  Marchesi Antinori.  Andrea worked for Marchesi Antinori for many years, but decided to leave and become an independent consultant.  Currently he is working as a consultant for many estates in Italy and abroad.  He has been working at Montemaggio since 1996. A Perfectionist, who is always available to give suggestions and find solutions.  His philosophy is that wine first of all, is done in the vineyards.  He always said that although Montemaggio does experience some difficult working conditions, we have always been able to make very good wine, a true Chianti Classico, a true Sangiovese. A very simple but genuine taste.  Andrea is passionate about the earth and world of the sea. 

Valeria Zavadnikova is Russian, born in Vladivostok. She lived in Moscow until the age of 16, and moved to England in order to complete her school. Valeria graduated from both City University London and King’s College London with the Bachelor in Law and Master in Law degrees respectively.  Her family always dreamt about having an estate in Italy and making wine. After a long search,  Valeria and her family have found Montemaggio. Seeing its enormous potential, Valeria has thrown herself completely into the world of wine, learning as much as she could while studying and working!  She deals predominantly with the sales and marketing of the Montemaggio wines. Valeria lives in Montemaggio with her husband and their two dogs.  Valeria has great love for reading, cinema and especially for wine and the countryside!
